April A to Z Challenge... My favorite A characters

Last time I participated in this challenge, I recapped 26 of my favorite writers. This time, I want to celebrate the characters they have brought to me to enrich me world.

A is for Arya from The Song of Ice and Fire series.

If I had read this series when I was 15 instead of 30, I am sure that I would have:
  • been slightly traumatized
  • instilled Arya in my list of literary inspirations right next to Ender Wiggin
Arya is everything a girl in her situation is supposed to NOT be... defiant, fearless, inquisitive, and sassy. Her moxy throughout the series gets her into many a scrape, but also makes her story line one of the most intriguing of the 18,241 characters in the books.

Perfectly case in the HBO series Game of Thrones, Arya has come to life for me on many fronts. Though 15-year-old-me would have loved her for being different, 30-something me loves her for being so exciting.

    I haven't read The Song of Fire and Ice series, but I have heard so many wonderful things about it that I may have to give it a shot this summer!

    I like the idea of an A - Z of characters. Wonder if I could come up with one for each letter.

    I love this idea! I'm looking forward to reading all of them. My favourite A character is actually probably my favourite character in all of literature, -- and the first man I ever loved -- Andrei Androfsky from Leon Uris' Mila 18.
